Nominations for Local District Delegates

Greeting Brothers and Sisters,

Mark your calendars, the opening of nominations for our Local District Delegates will be held at our November Meeting. Below we will go through the process and rules as defined by our Local Lodge Bylaws and our IAM Constitution for how the process will operate.


Nominations and Elections

Per our Local and District By-Laws,

Article IV, Section 3. - Each affiliated Local Lodge shall nominate candidates for the office of Delegate and Alternate Delegate at their first regular meeting in the month of November every four years.

(a) Each affiliated Local Lodge shall be entitled to one (1) Alternate Delegate for each Delegate. Any time a regular delegate is absent from a District Delegate meeting, their alternate shall attend in their behalf. If a regular delegate resigns or is removed from his or her position as a Delegate to the District, then the Alternate shall become the regular delegate for that Local Lodge.

Article IV, Section 4. - Each affiliated Local Lodge shall elect Delegates and Alternate Delegates at their first regular meeting in the month of December every four years. The number to be elected shall be in conformance with the notification from the District Lodge 725 Secretary-Treasurer in accordance with Section 2.


Qualification for a District Delegate for our Local shall be as provided in the District By-Laws as listed below. The term of office shall be for the next four (4) years. (2026-2029)

Article IV, Section 6. - In order to be eligible for nomination and election as a Delegate or an Alternate Delegate a member must have been in continuous good standing, in a Local Lodge affiliated with District Lodge 725, for at least one year immediately prior to nomination, free from delinquency of any nature to any Local Lodge, District Lodge or the Grand Lodge and must meet the qualification of working at the trade.


Members nominated for office, delegates, or elective committees shall give their name, clock number, and classification via the form and acceptance letter, for the purpose of the Recording Secretary, verifying their eligibility in accordance with the IAM Constitution and our bylaws.

No candidate shall be removed from the ballot after the Election Committee has certified the eligibility of candidates. The deadline for certification will be the Wednesday following the close of nominations.

The Recording Secretary shall read the names of the nominees at the regular meeting in November following the closing of nominations. The November meetings will be held on the second Wednesday, 11/12/2025.

Elections shall be held at the Local Lodge from 10:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. on the same day as our meeting in December on 12/10/2025.

The duties of a Delegate are as follows: It is the Duty of our Delegates to attend all District Meetings and represent the interests of our Local and its members. Meetings are held quarterly during the months of January, April, July, and October. The meetings will take place on the third Saturday of the month at 11:00 a.m. or at such time as shall be designated by action of the Delegate Body at the prior meeting, and shall be held at a location specified by the President/Directing Business Representative.
